Abstract: Introduction: Post-traumatic Heterotopic ossification (HO) of the elbow is a debilitating condition. Surgical excision is complex and challenging. 3D models have the potential to provide a superior anatomical representation of bony anatomy to aid resection. Case Presentation: We present a case of left elbow heterotopic ossification following surgical fixation of an open olecranon fracture. A 3D model was reconstructed and aided in preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance. Results and conclusion: A discussion of previous cases in the literature is presented. Similar to our case, the 3D model provided accurate anatomical replica and preoperative planning and simulation. There were no neurovascular injuries and good functional improvement postoperatively.
