Abstract: Various surgical techniques have been described for the fixation of coracoid base fractures. Today, commonly performed surgical techniques for these fractures generally involve the insertion of one or more lag screws through the coracoid base. These screws are placed either anterior or posterior to the clavicle. However, for certain fracture types, the mechanical barrier of the clavicle may result in suboptimal screw trajectory and inadequate fixation using conventional techniques. In order to bypass this, we describe a technique involving trans-clavicular screw fixation for an Ogawa type I coracoid base fracture.
